The main reason to trust on TYPO3 is for its quality, security, and scalability. It simply is the most robust opensource content management system there is. And it has the most logical and intuitive way to deal with for editors and writers. Because it looks a lot like the directory structure on your computer.

It is weird that TYPO3 does not always pop up in top 10 lists. Main reason, we think, is the lack of knowledge with many website service suppliers. ViBiS on the contrary, represents digital and content craftsmen.

Why no Shopify?

Shopify seems to violate European privacy rules. At this moment (2023-2024), it is deemed illegal in Germany. This has to do with the parties that Shopify works with through Content Delivery Networks that are based in the US. It is a complex matter, but it is a reason to stay away from it, at least for the time being. And in the end it is expensive. Yes, it has advantages, it is user friendly for an ecommerce system. But so are we.

Why no WordPress?

It is an unclear system with everything around it, including - suspicious - template systems. I regularly speak to system security staff that explain me how complex it is to keep the system secure - or actually, how insecure it is. For me as being educated in times when care for security was really appreciated, it is weird to watch how even bigger companies ignore the issues that WordPress brings along.

WordPress is everywhere because it is US based and so it gets into the systems. Domain registry companies have to include it in their services because of the resulting demand. It has a strong lobby and so it seems for free. Perhaps for you as a small business, you don't care. But we care. And nothing is for free. WordPress is not a user friendly system, and it's not friendly at all. It is big US business.

What is: Adaptive?

First the company's name was Vincnet, an internet adventure. Then it became more and more business oriented.

“Business & Internet Solutions” became a tag line. Or “Business & Internet Services”. Putting “Vincnet's” in front, it became “VBIS”. I wanted to get rid of Vincnet, because the c was often pronounced as a k in stead of an s. But VBIS sounded incomplete. After testing a few alternatives, there came an extra i, making it VIBIS.

“Vincent's Interesting Business & Internet Solutions” was the first idea, but soon there came variations, like “Very Impressive Business & Internet Services”. Perhaps you can come up with yours?

Yes, it's an ibis.

A symbol was easy to find: the ibis. The red one, because it sticks out. And a flying ibis makes a V.

After some changes, and to make it clearer as an abbrev., it became ViBiS. After a few years of “Rock Solid Solutions” - I found the ibis in the ancient Egyptian hieroglyphs - the tagline “beViSiBle” completes the idea.

But the service is not, though it doesn't have to be expensive. ViBiS creates the system that you want, that you need, the system that is good for now and your next decades.

So what's a fair price for that?

Building a complex system means basically guarding the “time-requirements-money” triangle. Releasing the website system must be in time for you to run your business and earn money. But you need the requirements being realized for that. And to have it realized, you need money.

Budget guarding on small, medium and large projects is the key

We keep the price as we agreed at the start of the project, wether it's about a large website or a small business one. We do that by guarding that triangle and being constantly in contact with you, the client.

The price for the lifecycle - or maintenance - is also fair, considering the level of service in particular. First of all, it is customized to your wishes and needs. Over the years, you can't do without updates and upgrades, but there are many levels in that to agree upon.
